Winners

Well, well, we made it through Monday mostly unscathed. At least I think we did. I so overslept today and I did it in an awkward position which means I’m limping since my hip hurts like the Dickens. And if you’ve ever read Dickens, you’ll understand why it hurts. No offense to you Dickens lovers…but really? Ouch.

As most of y’all know, we had a big blog hop going on. Yup, the Big Cocks & Broomsticks Blog Hop to celebrate Halloween, the Cabal of Hotness and just being goofy. We chose our winners and they’ve been mailed. Now to wait  for their responses which will probably be “Yippee skippy!” or something like that.

The Grand Prize ($100 gc to Amazon or Barnes & Noble) goes to Val Denis.

Second place ($50 gc to Amazon or B&N) goes to Joey Ross.

Third place ($25 gc to Amazon or B&N) goes to Shelley Monro.

First off, we had so much fun with this hop and it’s always a pleasure to meet so many new people! Really it is. Secondly, I hope most of everyone sticks around because with the Cabal of Hotness, there’s no telling what we’ll come up with next. Honestly, I don’t even know what we’re doing next…mostly because those bitches are crazy. Y’all hear?

Oh! And I had a giveaway here on my blog as well. Random.org chose…

Jasmyn Novachek as the winner of the Danica Avet fleece blanket! Yay!

So glad everyone participated in the giveaway and if you’re looking for more goodies to win, be sure to “like” me on Facebook. I hold monthly giveaways known as Fan Appreciation Giveaways. This month I’m giving away gift cards to help with holiday shopping.

Oh and in case I haven’t mentioned it, I’m also holding a giveaway here on the blog when I hit my 1,000 blog post! I have prizes from a large group of writers who are most awesome. Among a few,  you can expect to win books from Cynthia Eden, Lea Barrymire, A.M. Griffin, Lucy Felthouse, Cara Carnes, Cassandra Carr, Cristal Ryder, Amy Ruttan, Anya Richards, Denise Tompkins, Kari Gregg, um…Sky Robinson, Piper Trace, swag and prizes from Jillian Chantal, Tara Nina and gosh, there are even more authors who I’m sorry to say I forget at the moment. Needless to say it’s a cornucopia of romance! Yay! So look for that giveaway to happen…um, next week most likely. I’ll start the actual countdown to the 1,000 blog post tomorrow.

Peace out!

And last, but not least is Fondled and Gobbled: Messier Than Ever with stories by Amy Ruttan, Cristal Ryder, Piper Trace and Justin Whitfield:fandgmessierthanever_msr

There’s a licking theme going on…or would that be a tongue theme? Heh. Either way the covers really reflect the humor of the stories as well as the eroticism because despite them being funny, they’re hawt! Kind of like us!

Before you leave, don’t forget there are three giveaways going on right now. The What is Danica thinking? giveaway ends tonight. The Big Cocks and Shamrocks Blog Hop ends on Sunday and my Scavenger Hunt for Dean’s List ends next week. Be sure to get your chances to win swag, books and naughty stuff. Everyone loves naughty stuff, don’t they?

Oh! And in case I forget, tomorrow I have another interview…rar, one I think everyone will definitely appreciate. *waggles her eyebrows*

DJ Sky In The House

Thanks to my girl Danica for letting me take over her blog today!

I have to have music on when I write. I’ll make playlists for certain books with songs that match the mood, and sometimes play a song over and over on repeat until I finish a scene. I don’t know if that makes me crazy or not, but whatever, it works.
One of my favorites to put on repeat is Moves Like Jagger, it’s a sexy song and and of course it doesn’t hurt that Adam Levine is so damn good looking he almost melts my screen.

So listen to a little Maroon Five and enjoy a snippet from my latest book, Caribbean Heat…if you can tear your eyes away from the video.

Excerpt:
His face was inches from hers, eyes intent, studying. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think about anything other than how badly she wanted him. She wanted to know how good his lips pressed against hers could feel. If it was going to happen, this was a perfect place, no one could see, no one would know.

“Ummhmm.” Sierra swallowed hard and moved closer, inviting him, needing him, not knowing if he had any interest in her, but hoping like hell he did.

Jack answered that question quickly, closed the distance between them and pressed his lips against hers softly.
Sierra parted her lips, inviting him in, wanting him to taste her. He didn’t hesitate, his tongue teasing, tasting, twirling with hers. Heat pooled between her legs. Damn, the man could kiss.

It seemed so natural, so easy, kissing Jack like this.

Sierra let her own tongue explore the heat of his mouth, tangle with his, and the pulsing need between her legs amplified. God, she wanted this man.

Jack’s hands ran down the bare skin of Sierra’s back, pulling her closer. She wrapped a hand around his neck and ran her fingers through his hair and held on tightly as the lust coursed through her.

She’d heard women talk about kissing a man and it making their toes curl, but she hadn’t experienced it until this moment. It was like some kind of drug and she couldn’t get enough.

Jack pressed his lips to hers again and again and wetness rushed to her opening. She wanted him, needed his cock inside her so damn bad.

“Sierra.” The one word was growled as he pulled her on top of him. Her sex pressed against his hard-on and another surge of wetness dampened her cunt. She pulsed herself against him, searching for relief from the surging need but finding higher levels of torment instead. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think straight, couldn’t focus on anything but the pleasure his touch gave her.

His hand moved up to her breast, brushed along the sensitive skin, and a shiver of lust shot through her. He grasped her whole breast in one hand and pinched the nipple between two fingers. and a shock of lust shot through her.
Something flicked against her foot but Sierra ignored it. She wanted only to focus on the sensations Jack caused, but the annoying thing flicked against her foot again and she looked back.

Hol-y shit.

The Next Big Thing

Writing is a peculiar business. *ponders* It makes for strange bedfellows as well, but that’s probably the best part of it. You never know who’s going to float into your life and impact it. One of those influential people is someone I met recently. I saw this lady I thought was another one of my editor’s authors (I kept doing that) and waved her over. Next thing I know, Lea Barrymire, Cara Carnes and A.M. Griffin and I were cutting up as though we’d been friends for years instead of just meeting.
Lea, who you can visit here, is a talented author of muy caliente romance. She tagged me in this game called The Next Big Thing. The great part about this game is it gives readers and writers the chance to explore new authors and get to meet them. I hope you’ll check out more about Lea, the other people she’s tagged, the people I’ve tagged and those who tagged her. See? Lots and lots of connections!

And now for my part in this crazy game. *crackes her knuckles*
What is your working title of your book?
I actually have three current works in progress. Today though, I’m working on Primal Flavor.
Where did the idea come from for the book?
I’d be lying if I told you where I came up with the idea. Ideas just sort of pounce on me, not the other way around. I was probably doing something completely unrelated to writing and though, Hm, I need to write a book about an overprotective, man-whore of a chef who can turn into a tiger and has issues seeing when his “charge” is all grown up.

What genre does your book fall under?
It’s a paranormal shapeshifter erotic romance. Say that ten times fast.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Ooh! Um…tiger shifter…big tiger shifter. I’d have to go with Chris Hemsworth for Zach and Lauren Ambrose to play Ginny.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Um, I think I just said that…An overprotective, man-whore, tiger shifting chef finds big trouble in the human he’s always treated like a little sister when she decides it’s way past time to grow up.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I’m hoping it’ll be picked up by Ellora’s Cave. Fingers crossed people. Fingers crossed.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Uh, I just restarted it. For the eightieth time. But if my word count holds true to past books, I can probably have the first draft written in 3-4 weeks.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I don’t really know. Maybe the Shelly Laurenston Pride books? But I’d never compare myself to her. She’s awesome. I heart you, Shelly!

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
The series is based on a small south Louisiana town and I guess I drew inspiration from growing up and living down here. There’s so much craziness, it’s kind of hard not to write about it.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

You’ll pee your pants reading it. No, that’s not something people want to do. Um…it’s a fun book, I think. With humor, heat and a man who makes food sexy. What more could a woman want?

And now for the authors I tagged. Be sure to look for their The Next Big Thing blogs the week of November 26, 2012
