Lundi Gras

Happy Lundi Gras! You’re probably wondering what the hell Lundi Gras is. Well, tomorrow is Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras, so today means Fat Monday. It’s also known as Shrove Monday. *shrug*

Anyway, I have a lot of news to report, so get out your notebooks. Ready?

First of all, the winners from Ciara Knight’s blog interview and giveaway are…Rebecca Zanetti and Susan Fields! Yay! I had such a wonderful time on Ciara’s blog and I’m so thankful she invited me over to meet some of her readers. Okay, it sounds like a cocktail party, doesn’t it? Well, that’s because it felt like that…minus the drinks (unless y’all had some and didn’t share) and minus the uncomfortable party dress (yay for pajamas!).

Secondly, today I’m over at Rebecca Zanetti’s blog for another interview and giveaway! It was an honest drawing on Ciara’s blog. I promise. Random.org is my friend and doesn’t accept bribes as far as I know 🙂 So hop on over to Rebecca’s blog for your chance to win another hand-painted mask!

Third, (I told you I had a lot of news!) my first book in the Veil Series, Ruby: Uncut and on the Loose is now available for print! You can order it from Amazon or Barnes and Nobles. Yay.

Then, tomorrow is the release day of my second book in the Veil Series, Succubus-in-Waiting. I’ll be hosting a “parade” over at Falyn Donaldson’s blog. You flash your hot men to me and I’ll “throw” you some goodies! Be sure to stop by for that, it’s sure to be a lot fun 🙂

And the last bit of news, (finally!) I received an e-mail over the weekend about a local writer’s conference. It’s only one day, but it looks to be filled with a lot of great information and speakers. If you happen to be in the New Orleans area on the weekend of March 26, you may want to check it out: http://www.terrebonne.lib.la.us/jubilee2011.pdf

So that’s everything! I hope everyone has a great day!

Special What’s Playing Wednesday

Well, it’s finally here. Release Day! That’s right, folks. Ruby: Uncut and on the Loose is now out through Siren Publishing.

I’m actually a lot calmer than I thought I would be. Of course, that might have more to do with me waking up at 4 this morning to work out and forcefully calm myself. I’m sending my little book into the wild with the hopes it isn’t maimed.

There’s a lot going on today besides it being my Release Day (sorry, but I simply have to write it like that…it looks more important and official that way, doesn’t it?). I’m blogging over at the group blog, Four Foxes, One Hound about my thoughts on romance. I’m also going to be over at Southern Sizzle Romance for Wetsday and I’ll be giving away another prize, so check it out.

And now for What’s Playing Wednesday. Unfortunately, Danica’s Magical Music Player didn’t have quite the right song for today. I toyed with the notion of posting Kool & The Gang’s Celebration, but it didn’t seem quite right either. I had to delve deep into my mind for the perfect song to express my happiness for today and then I remembered one of my favorite cartoons.

Yes, when I was in high school and college, my sister (who is 8 years older), my brother-in-law (who’s 10 years older), and I would wake up bright and early to catch The Ren & Stimpy Show. Is it any wonder I had to choose the Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Song? I think it suits my mood perfectly!

So here you go:

I’m so glad to have had you wonderful folks with me during this struggle to publication. I couldn’t have done it without you and your encouraging comments through the last couple of years.

Nerves and Winners

These two things aren’t really connected, but I’ll start with the winner first. On Saturday, Southern Sizzle Romance was kind enough to let me guest blog for their Badurday post. I had a lot of fun and everyone came up with some great villains. I can’t believe I left Gary Oldman out! Gah!

Anyway, so I hit up random.org and let it pick a number and the winner was none other than Daisy Harris! This is what she won:

The flowered thing on the left side is a table runner, not feathers although that would have been awesome!

The idea behind the masks for Book 1 was to give a  unique twist to the tattoo Ruby ends up having on her face. I let my relatives have creative license with the painting and this was one my mom did. It’s very nice and I hope Daisy enjoys it! I have several more masks (all unique) to give out, so be sure to follow along the tour!

Now to the nervousness. Tomorrow is release day. Yeah, just thinking that ties my stomach in knots. There’s so much I have to do tomorrow, I might not even have time to be nervous, but today I can feel my body going into a tailspin. I’ll be fine. Logically, I know I’ll be perfectly fine, but my body does its own thing when I’m nervous.

Anyway, tomorrow I’ll be posting here as usual for What’s Playing Wednesday, but I’ll also be blogging over at my new group blog, Four Foxes, One Hound about what I think romance is. Daisy kicked the week off with her hilarious post and today is Jillian Chantal. It won’t be easy following these two, but I’ll try my best!

I’ll also be back over at Southern Sizzle Romance for Wetsday guest blog. Romancemama was so sweet to invite me back to talk about wet men. I’m so going to have fun with that post! Smexy, wet men? Hello! I’m there! I hope you check it out because I’ll once again be giving away a mask in honor of Ruby’s debut.

In the meantime, I’ll just sit in my corner, rocking as I wait for the bad day to be over.

Cover Art Goodness

I know, I rarely ever put two blog posts up in one day, but this is too good to pass up!

I received my cover art for Veil book 1, Ruby: Uncut and on the Loose and I have to share it with y’all! I also got my final approvals and the book will be released by Siren Publishing on February 2!! Squee!!

So without further ado, here’s the cover:

The artist did a wonderful job in representing Ruby. You see, at the beginning of the story, Ruby undergoes a transformation that leaves her with magical powers and tattooed on her face and hands. The hero, Lucian…oh my. That body…yeah, she got Lucian as well.

I’m so excited about the upcoming release and will have some blog tour dates to share with you by Monday. If you’re looking for a guest blogger or someone to interview, I still have a few dates available. Drop me an e-mail at danica.avet@gmail.com if you’d like to host me. I have goodies to give away!

Let the games begin!
