Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00058]Blurb: Some bonds run soul deep

Eion Mandrake, wolf shifter and rising alpha, has a secret. The years he spent at school in Little Crow Pass, Wyoming wasn’t just for a typical high school education. He’d been sent to learn all he could about life as a human. What he wasn’t counting on was his best friend’s younger sister, Olivia Wilson. Saving the little daredevil from drowning bonded him to her forever. But pack law dictates no shifter and human are allowed to mate, leaving Eion no choice. He had to leave Little Crow.

Twelve years later, Eion’s returned, and all he wants is to get in and get out of town as quickly as possible. Yet, the moment he runs into Olivia he realizes the flame he’s carried for the human stills burns hot and out of control.

But Olivia is all grown up now and has a new man in her life–one she can count on to stick around. She’s doing her best to move forward and forget her childhood crush. However, Olivia needs Eion’s help. Problem is, lowering the wall around his heart to become Olivia’s hero once more could destroy both their worlds.

Excerpt:

“Come on, Eion,” Olivia called out. “What, are you—chicken?” The few friends who’d joined them at the lake to cool off from the early summer heat laughed.

“Go on,” Kris nudged him in the back. “Do it so she’ll shut up.”

Eion looked over his shoulder at his best friend, then back to Olivia. “I’m not chicken. But that branch is not going to hold if you swing out there.” Eion pointed to the limb she’d picked for the tie-down. “I don’t mind a cannon ball, but I don’t want that thing coming down on my head—or yours.”

“He’s probably right,” Kris said, facing his sister. “Pick another spot for your rope swing, or just give it a rest.”

“God,” Olivia said with a sigh and rolled her eyes. “You guys are so lame.” She whirled around toward the lake, giving them her back. “It’s going to be fine. I crawled out there on it, didn’t I?” Olivia tugged once more on the rope with both hands. “Watch.”

With a mad dash, Olivia streaked toward the grassy edge that would take her out over the near five-foot drop to the water below. With both hands wrapped tight around the twisted rope, she swung out with a squeal of delight and a sickening crack came from the tree.

Shit.

As if someone had flipped a switch, the world around Eion geared down to half speed.

Olivia fell through the air, arms and legs flailing in a strange, slow motion.

The jagged limb followed, tumbling down, down, down, as if seeking revenge on the person who’d dared to test its endurance.

One second his feet were rooted to the ground, and in the next, Eion found himself staring over the edge as Olivia went under, the branch making a loud splash in the same spot. He gasped and the world roared back to full speed.

“Oh, shit!” It was Kris’s voice, but he had no idea when Kris had moved in beside him. In paralyzing silence, they stared at the rippling surface.

Waiting.

Watching.

Come on, Olivia. Show me how damn tough you are.

Three years have passed since vampire princess Cassy Daniels, Scion of the House of Dracul, gave up her title to turn and marry David Ashe. Together, they live in exile with the Council of Crones, a group of elder witches. Isolated from the world, they found bliss. However, vampire politics soon intrudes.

Born vampire women are being kidnapped, and Cassy’s next on the list. After a failed attempt to take Cassy from the Council of Crones’ estate, magical portals lead back to the missing women. Cassy and David are tasked with bringing them home. David is sent after Elisabeta, Cassy’s sister-in-law, who is still on Earth. Cassy, however, has what it takes to enter the elf-kingdom of Avalon and retrieve the other three vampires.

Can Cassy and David hold onto their bliss or will Avalon’s magic lure her from home?

EXCERPT

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about, and I really don’t like what you are insinuating. I don’t know where Liz is. I don’t know anything about her accounts. If Max or Father wanted me to know about this, they can call me. The phones here do still work, you know. Now, if you will excuse me, I have a class to teach in half an hour,” Cassy snapped. Anger colored her tone.

How dare they accuse her of anything? If Liz left Max, Cassy doubted it was done without a good reason. These men did not seem to think she had been kidnapped. Cassy stood to leave, not caring to wait for a reply.

“You’re not going anywhere until you tell us where she is!” Reid sprang out of his chair and pushed her back down. He put both hands on the chair arms, preventing Cassy from standing back up. He leaned into her face. She smelled the fresh human blood he had on his breath. “You have to know where she is. The money shifted between one of her accounts, one of your accounts, and an anonymous Swiss account the same day she disappeared. You had something to do with it, even if you never left this compound. Admit it or we are going to haul your ass in and let the interrogators get it out of you!”

Adrenaline flooded Cassy’s system. Reid gave her a cruel smile, as if she were overcome with fear. A year ago, he would have been correct but not tonight. She was no longer the courtly lady she had once been.

Blurb:

Book three in the Unveiled Seductions series.

Talathion Frostbane was tasked with saving his people and took on the responsibility unflinchingly. Yet all it takes to throw his entire existence into chaos is one encounter with the wyvern-shifter he spurned two hundred years before. The passion between them is as strong as ever, but there’s no escaping the expectations of the clan. And giving in to the all-consuming desire for the dragonkin would have devastating consequences.

When Hervé Cinq à Sept travels to the Fey city of Leaich, searching for answers after someone tries to kill him, what he finds rocks his world in a variety of ways and leads him down a path of inescapable hunger. As he finds himself on his knees, lost in desperate need and heading for heartbreak, he realizes why, as a species, the dragonkin no longer believe in love. It’s so easy to lose everything—pride, independence, control—when the one you want to claim can never be yours.

Excerpt:

The wyvern had always been handsome. As a young dragon just past his majority he’d shown evidence of the man he’d become. But then his beauty was that of youth—fresh, brash and still somewhat unformed. Now, in the prime of his life, he was no longer beautiful but absolutely, completely magnificent. Time had scourged all softness from his face and left it fierce and powerful with a calm strength Talathion found compelling. His shoulders seemed broader, his chest and arms more muscular, another sign of the changes maturity had wrought. The tattoos above his ear and peeking out from beneath the collar of his black shirt gave him an aura of danger, of being a man unafraid to stand out.

Just looking at him gave Talathion a shock of excitement, yet it was the wyvern’s eyes, their expression, he most wanted to see. From the moment they’d met, from the very first time he’d looked into that emerald gaze, it had haunted him. Sometimes those eyes danced with laughter, at other times they were serious or coolly arrogant, but no matter the expression they were always enthralling. And when the eyelids drooped, veiling but not concealing the flash of dragonfire, the unmistakable sexual energy surrounding Hervé flared hot and wild…

Talathion closed his eyes, thankful Hervé’s attention had been focused on whatever he was doing. Their time together had been so long ago it had no bearing on the present. And undoubtedly his reminiscences had been altered by the vagaries of memory.

I can’t let old longings deflect me from what needs to be done. I have to get back to Leaich.

Yet just that quick glance at the man who’d stolen his heart at a time when he could least afford to give it made his flesh tingle, the muscles beneath grow taut and hot. A sudden, heightened awareness of his nakedness beneath the covers made his fingers clench into fists. He tried to ignore the pressure building in his groin, but was glad of the quilt bunched across his lap as his cock stirred and began to rise.

“So, are you hungry?”

In ways I don’t dare admit to.

“Mr. Thorpe? Sir, we have received word of a bombing in Asheville. It appears someone targeted Hilargi, Inc. A black BMW M5 matching the description of Eleanor Beckett’s was seen leaving the area. We believe she is headed this way. What would you like for us to do?” The skinny, small-framed man looked more like a sleazy used car salesman than a messenger. Tension and fear filled his voice. He was only a few steps into the room but seemed to think it was too far in for comfort.

His boss looked up from his paper with no particular interest, picked up his wine glass, and gave the dark-red contents a hard look. He took a large mouthful and swallowed hard. Giving the skinny man an appraising eye, he thought about the message for a few moments more.

“Let her. Don’t try to stop her, for your own safety. If she is on the run, there’s something far more dangerous on her trail. Do you know if she was alone?”

“We can’t be sure, sir, but we think she has her niece and a fairy with her.” The salesman-like messenger took a step back toward the door, anxious to be anywhere but here.

“Well, then. I think we can expect guests. I look forward to meeting them. Send most of the guards and staff away. Tell them they can have the evening off and to go party responsibly.” The man practically ran from the room, leaving him alone. He was intrigued. Eleanor was rumored to have something of tremendous value in her possession. Whatever it was, she was sure to have it with her. Her visit had the potential to be very profitable. Perhaps she would barter safety for a little slice of the pie. He would have to call this in to his boss. His boss required a taste of Thorpe’s profitable dishes, but it was okay. That was just how the system worked, how he himself had became so wealthy. He smiled to himself and went back to reading his paper.

DJ Lea in the House

For the next two months, I’ve invited my fellow Cabal of Hotness buddies to take over my blog on Wednesdays and share a song from their current playlist, or their former playlist, or whatever works for them. Today we have Geeky Hotness herself, Lea Barrymire in the house!
I’m currently working on a succubus-meets-warlock story and find that this song is just loud and hard enough to get my fingers flying across the keyboard. Well, and it plays along with the theme of my story.

The story, Wired in Sin, is about a female who hates her life. She’s a ‘made’ succubus who has found a way to feed off sexual energy through a very non-conventional method. Lots of wires and phone cords in this story. And, no, it has nothing to do with BDSM. Victoria would do anything to stay away from people. Her hero, Dominick, knows she’s supposed to be his but has to find a way into her heart. He’s a sneaky bastard! LOL

Here’s a short, unedited, snippet… see what you think of my techno-wizard and succubus:

Dominick knew the moment that she started feeding off his energy. The magical pull was slight, but still there in the back of his mind. He couldn’t stop from smiling when her face finally relaxed and a beautifully peaceful look descended. She’d been distant and cool when first materializing in his mind. Now that he was feeding her he could feel her loosening up, releasing some of the control she had on their session and her mind.

Moving his hands up under the dress was a taste of delicious torture. He could feel her smooth skin under his palms, feel her heat, but could only imagine what she looked like. Were her legs long enough to wrap around his waist if he hoisted her against the wall? Would they look pale around his tanned skin? Did she have any freckles on her ivory skin, or was it creamy and unblemished? He groaned. His imagination fueling his thoughts, feeding his desire to unwrap her like a present. He wanted to push the fabric off her legs and catch a glimpse of the prize he was after, but the longer he waited the better it would be.

He watched her face as he stroked both hands up along her legs. He stopped at her knees and skimmed his palms back down to her ankles, lightly running his fingers over her skin. He grinned as she shivered under his ministrations. He did the circuit again, up slowly along the outside of her calf and then back down to her ankles. The feel of goosebumps under his touch made him want to shout in triumph. She was reacting to the session even if she didn’t want to.

Dominick wanted to give her so much more. “Open your legs, Victoria. Spread open for me, love.”
