Lovely Friday

I started off this week sick as a dog, but I’m so glad it’s Friday I could almost dance. Almost because this girl does not have the moves like Jagger. Not at all.

Of course because it’s finally the end of the week, it means I’m about to start up yet another week of training. That’s a good thing, right? Learning is always good. If I can keep my eyes open. The only really great thing I can think of to make up for being away from home and my bed a whole week is I get to spend it with my aunt and uncle. I’ve already put in my request for as much kimchee, bulgogi and other Korean dishes as I can possibly think of. Oh yeah, Danica is going to eat well next week.

The worst part of having been sick this week is I didn’t really get to celebrate the release of my erotic menage, Sweetest Taste of Sin. Sure, I posted about it on Twitter and Facebook, but I didn’t do the whole Happy Release Day to me! thing I normally do. So I’m going to do that now.

Yay! Happy Belated Release Day to me!

Okay. Phew, glad that’s over. Well not really. I’m going to post the blurb and buy links as well as my Friday song. *think* I had a few on tap when I started this post but I think it’ll have to be the song that made me think of the title for this short story. Ne-Yo’s “Closer” is such a good dance song and of course it gave me the idea for the book.

And here it is…Sweetest Taste of Sin.

SweetestTasteofSinARe

Logan Guillory finally has what she’s always wanted, a loving, sizzling relationship with J.B. Calhoun. So why can’t she shake her overwhelming need for his twin brother Anthony? Her small town morals tell her it’s not normal to love two men with equal fervor, but not even the risk of damaging her standing in Grand Terre, Louisiana can make her stop wanting to be possessed by them both.

Anthony ‘Ant’ Calhoun had his eye on Logan long before his brother entered the picture, but now he’s lost his chance, or so he thinks. J.B. has other ideas, which includes sharing Logan’s sensual caresses and big heart with his brother. Torn between overwhelming need and fear of the scandal that might ensue, Ant resists with all his might, but doesn’t stand a chance against the needs of the two people he loves most.

Giving in threatens everything they all hold dear, but who can resist the sweetest taste of sin?

Yay for Friday

Can we say thank goodness? I mean really, I never thought Friday would come.

It’s been a busy, crazy week. And it’s about to get crazier with day job stuff. I have several training seminars coming up, one that lasts three days and the other that’ll be a whole week. That means no computer time at all. Just hope I don’t fall asleep and wake up in a puddle of drool from being bored to death. But it’s for a good cause, right? Yeah. Right.

Monday I’m releasing the first book in the Southern Sin trilogy which is part of the Grand Terre world I built for my Crushes to Cravings series. I’m really excited about it to be honest. Sweetest Taste of Sin is my first non-spoof menage and it’s pretty sexy. My website is being a pain right now, so I can’t update it, but here’s the blurb:

My plans for this weekend? Writing if I can find the time, updating my website even if I have to take a hammer to it and getting Sweetest Taste of Sin ready to for publishing on Monday.

And because I watched Magic Mike last weekend…twice *cough*, I’ve had this song stuck in my head. I can’t help it. It’s really one of the few songs I like by KISS except now when I hear it, I see Matthew McConaughey stripping and I sort of zone out. What? So I have a weakness for southern men with lean, muscled bodies and more oil on their skin than fried chicken. So what? *sniff*

Happy Friday y’all!

Friday Fun

Well, it’s fun for me, not so much for Atlanta fans. Sorry guys.

I didn’t get much sleep last night because I wasn’t going to bed until the final second ticked off the clock in the 4th quarter of the Saints-Falcons game. Call me paranoid, but too much happens in the last few seconds of the games, especially this season. But we pulled out a win and woo-woo! 9-2 baby! Now we just have to battle Seattle next week. *sigh*

Not going to talk about football this entire post, promise. I probably lost some of y’all at the first sentence. Your eyes glazed over, drool started to pool at the corner of your mouths and the rest of this blog post will be lost. Ah well. Sorry about that.

However, since the Saints played last night, that means I’m reasonably free on Sunday. I’ll still end up watching as many games as I can. That Denver-New England game promises to be a good one, but because my boys aren’t playing, I can work. Yeah, fun right? Meh. Eh, actually it isn’t all that bad. I have a book to edit and another one to finish in order to meet my year-end goals. So I can start 2014 with a clean slate. No works in progress, no half-finished stories that are driving me crazy. I can kick off January with a new book and let it flow.

At least that’s the theory. Not sure how it’ll work but I’m going to give it the old college try!

That means this weekend is dedicated to writing. So is the day before Thanksgiving and the weekend after Thanksgiving. If I’m not in a tryptophan coma. Making a note to myself now: Don’t gorge on turkey. Eat the Korean food. We’ll see if that sticks.

The song I chose to kick off the weekend sounds pretty epic. It’s Avenged Sevenfold’s newest single “Shepard of Fire”. I really like it and it puts me in the mood to write. Win-win situation!

Happy Friday, y’all!

Bad Girls

I’ve been such a bad blogger this year. I’m sure when I get to the last post of the year, I’ll think “But I didn’t blog much this year!” because I haven’t. Maybe it’s a natural part of diving deeper into my writing. Which I haven’t been doing. Or maybe it’s just laziness. Whatever it is, I do apologize for not blogging as much as I used to.

I’m trying to fix that. It might even be a New Year’s Resolution. Which I never follow anyway. Oh well, looks like y’all are out of luck!

This is going to be a busy weekend, by the way. This afternoon, I’m heading to Lake Charles, Louisiana for the Ellora’s Cave show and book signing with some great Cavemen. You can tell I’ve been waiting for this for a while, right? I was so concerned back when I found out when it was because of the shoulder. But I know if I can fly to Ohio to be crazy at RomantiCon, I can definitely cheer and go crazy over the dancers. *cough*

Once I get back to town tomorrow, I’ve got to jet to my nephew’s 2nd birthday party. He’s so darn cute I could just eat him up with a little spoon! I can’t be late for that, so chances are I’ll be sleep deprived when I get there tomorrow. Add onto that edits I’m expecting from my CPs and it looks like I won’t be getting any rest this weekend. But hey, how does that saying go? No rest for the wicked? And I can be very, very wicked when I want to. 😉

So to come back to the title of this post…Because tonight’s show is going to be hunky men doing their thing on the stage, it’s going to be great. And although this song is so played out because of Bridget Jones’ Diary and I think it was in Magic Mike as well, it’s perfect for the craziness that’s sure to go down tonight.

This is my Freaky on Friday song dedicated to the Cavemen show tonight. I hope to do a full RomantiCon blog post next week, so look for it!

Let Your Hair Down

Happy Friday! Woo-hoo!! Is anyone else doing the happy dance like me? If not, I’ll do it for you. I can’t believe how intense this week has been, but I’m ready for it to end already.

Of course because it’s the start of the weekend, I have to share my plans. Because you must have a plan for the next two days even if it looks like this:

1. Sleep
2. Wake up
3. Shower
4. Go back to sleep

Hey, I’ve had weekends like that. This weekend though, I’m going to continue chugging away at my superhero story. I’m sooo close. Like this close -><- to finishing it and sending  it off to be used and abused by my beta readers and CPs. I think it’s good. Oh man, is it good. Probably the most painfully dark thing I’ve ever written, but sometimes when I write stories like that, I leave a lot of important stuff out. You know, like things other than the intense emotion I want to convey. Like…”Is this position even possible? Because I don’t think it is…”

Yeah, that’s why we all need people to read our stuff before we send it anywhere near an editor or agent.

Oh and I’m mailing stuff. A lot of stuff. Swag for RomantiCon, swag for a basket, swag, swag, swag. If you want some Romance Trading Cards, drop me an email at danica(dot)avet(at)gmail(dot)com and I’ll send you some of my RTCs before they go in the box to RomantiCon. For the Ellora’s Cave conference, I have more shot glasses, compact mirrors and some brand new swag that are shammy coasters. They’re coasters that can also be used as shammys to absorb spills. I thought it was a cool idea and I hope readers like them as well. I’d offer to send those but I had them all shipped directly to Ellora’s Cave. If I have any left from the convention, I’ll let y’all know.

Did I mention football? Yeah, doing that too. Although after that last game, I might have to rethink watching. I’m not sure my heart can take it. *shudders*

Anyway, it’s Friday. Y’all don’t want to hear about my aches and pains and plans for the weekend, you want to get in the mood for your own fun, right? How about some 80s rock inspired music? You the kind I’m talking about. It makes you pretend you can hit falsetto notes and all you manage to do is sound like a dying cat. Yeah, I’m talking about The Darkness’ “I Believe In A Thing Called Love”.

Great earworm for Friday, don’t you think?

Kicking It Old Skool

It’s Friday! Yay! Is everyone jumping up and down with happiness? I am. And not just because last night Peyton Manning got me 120 points in my fantasy football league. Oh no, I’m happy because it’s Friday and I can write this weekend. Okay, I’m only writing on Saturday because Sunday is more football, but I have planz y’all.

But there’s more going on than football. I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s true. First of all, the Living Dangerously Scavenger Hunt Blog Hop is still going on and you don’t want  to miss that! I’m even giving away reader’s choice of my backlist of books, which is small potatoes compared to the grand prize. Be sure to check it out!

And as if that isn’t enough, I’m holding a Fan Appreciation giveaway on my Facebook fan page. All you have to do is be a member of my fan page (which happens to boast some hot men). I’ll pick a random person at the end of the month to win some swag. Best thing about this giveaway is that it’ll take place every month, so there’s endless chances to win! Sweet, huh?

It isn’t as sweet as the song I’m pulling out of the vaults for y’all today. To be honest, I can’t take the credit for this week’s pick. When I was at physical therapy this week, my therapist was telling us about the fishing rodeo held on Grand Isle. He said, “You’ll never guess who played the rodeo the past two years…2 Live Crew.” I was shocked. I mean, I guess I figured they had their moment in the spotlight and disappeared like most groups in the 90s were supposed to. But apparently they’ve been performing here in Louisiana with Juvenile. Who knew?

Then this sweet 16-year-old girl asked, “Who’s 2 Live Crew?”

And I felt old because back in the day they were the baddest of the bad. Anyway, since that conversation, every morning I’ve gotten ready for work, I’ve been rapping this song. I was in 7th grade when it came out because I distinctly remember going to a sleepover and singing it with my friends. *shudders* God forbid if I heard my 11-year-old niece singing this song. I’d probably beat her ass.

So for all us oldies, here’s a Freaky on Friday song: 2 Live Crew with “Me So Horny”. I feel all…nostalgic and shit.

Um Yeah

I hope everyone has had a good week. I’m still trying to get back in the swing of things here at the evil day job. It would help if I could sleep through the night without waking up at least twice. But we all have our crosses to bear. This weekend though….Oh this weekend isn’t as innocent as last weekend. There’s no trivia night in sight. Nope. Seems that A.M. Griffin is going to be in town which means we’re going to go buck. Wild. In New Orleans.

I’ve warned Lea Barrymire she might get a phone call at some point asking for her to hit up the Cabal funds to bail us out of jail. I’ve even warned my sister she might get a call but she told me I was on my own since I wouldn’t let her stalk Peyton Manning. Whatever. Anyway, we’re going to be tearing it up in the Quarter this weekend. Just not too much I hope. I am still recovering from surgery. If we hit a strip club I can only wave my dollar bill with my left hand. Darn it.

But we’re not at the weekend yet. And it’s a three-day weekend at that which means most people are going to be kicking back chillin’ or sleeping as much as possible (the way I want to) or barbecuing and stuff. And you need inspiration to get down to your groovin’ or grilling or even your sleepin’. Which is why we’re have Freaky on Fridays.

Yup, it’s another chance for me to play DJ (and if you have songs you want to feature, let me know and I’ll add them to my list) and share songs that will kick off your weekend. Sexy songs, party songs, anything that I feel is a good way to start off your Friday night fun. I’ll also be including once a month guest posts. I’m working on getting my guests lined up now and hope to start that in September. It’ll be fun!

So…I’ll admit I changed my mind about what song I was going to play because I just heard it in the car and this song took me back to a time when I was sitting in a theater watching Channing Tatum hump a stage. It was the first time I ever found myself jealous of an inanimate object. I’ll also admit I only went to see Magic Mike for Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello. Until I saw Channing Tatum perform to this song. Is it superficial? Yes. But as Lea told me, at least I’m honest. Because holy snikey, but this song puts me in the mood. Like Pavlov’s dog, I associate it with uber sexiness.

Happy Friday y’all. Have a safe weekend and sit back, let this song work on your mind…and if you’ve seen Magic Mike…picture Channing Tatum dancing on you like a good bad boy. *sigh*

Get Freaky on Friday

Since I started this blog oh…however long ago it was, I’ve always done a sexy man in pictures and interview. I haven’t done that in a long while and I think I’ve worn myself out with it. This doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy looking at sexy men or talking with them. What, are you nuts? I adore the menz! They’re just tough to tackle. Lea Barrymire, my buddy who does Tattoo Tuesdays, was trying to help me out for a while by asking her tattoo guys if they’d like to be here…but some were too shy for the questions we asked. But that’s okay. Men can be mysterious too.

So…I tossed around some ideas of what I could do for Fridays because Fridays has always been about the sexy for me. Hello, weekend! We all want to get in the mood for a little fun. Whether it’s wild and crazy or cool and mellow, Friday is easily the best day of the week and that’s why I’m going to kick off your weekends with some sexy songs. Yup, we’re going to start getting Freaky on Fridays.

I’ll even take requests for songs you think should kick off the weekend. Post your requests in the comments if there’s something you want to share with the class. If you have a great story about the song you want to include in the post, hit me up at danica(dot)avet(at)gmail(dot)com with the song, link and your story and I’ll be glad to add it.

So today kick off Freaky on Friday, I’m going with a song that I keep hearing that puts me in a mood to dance. Now, I can’t dance unless Jack Daniels is holding my hand, but when I hear this song…I’m like “oh yeah, I have rhythm and grace, oh  yeah, I can be smexy, smexy”. Luckily it only happens when I’m driving so I don’t actually do much more than wiggle in the driver’s seat (probably not a good thing).

Today we have Santana with Rob Thomas and “Smooth”. I can’t help it. Between the lyrics and that guitar…I’m a goner every time I hear it. Which doesn’t fit in with my metal head image, I know, but oh well.

Be sure to let me know what song you’d like to share for Freaky on Fridays!

Happy weekend  y’all!

Men In Review 3

I didn’t forget! How could I? It’s FRIDAY!! Wooo-hoo! That’s one thing you miss when you’re at a conference/convention. You have no idea what day it is. I can’t tell y’all how many times Lea and I would say “What day is it again?” because time really has no meaning unless you have a party/signing/workshop to attend. Most of the time, I’m all in la-la mode, or absolute talk-your-ear-off mode when I’m at a conference. That’s just how I roll.

I’m going to try to squeeze as many sexy men into today’s post as possible. I didn’t realize I’d interviewed so many! Now I have to ask that you not drool until the last man has been reviewed. Also, let me know which one you prefer. I might even go so far as to post a vote on the Cabal of Hotness blog at the end of this month. Hm, not a bad idea! So without further ado…

Magic Brian:

Magic Brian

Danica: What’s your favorite sexual position?
Brian: I’m calling it the crab, she’s on her back and I’m sitting up, my legs under hers and hers over mine so I can get deep and really nail her Gspot.
Danica: Whoa, Nelly! And that sound would be the collective “thud” as every woman hits the floor in a dead swoon. And look y’all, he’ll even cook for you after…And yup, there goes the thudding again.

Does anyone else find it a little warm in here?

Caveman Austin:

austin4

Danica: What’s your favorite kink?
Austin: I really like to please a girl. However, its the most fun when I get to please them in ways they didn’t even know they wanted to be pleased.
Danica: One sec while I pick my jaw up off the floor. “In ways they didn’t even know they wanted to be pleased…” Now that’s a loaded statement if I ever heard one! What do y’all think he means?

I’m still trying to imagine all the ways I’ve never known I wanted to be pleased. Which is a lot harder than you’d think. You know? *stops rambling*

Ted:

11412_419885828098883_606721489_n

Danica: What do you have going on right now?
Ted: Right now I’m currently in NYC. Going to casting, about to do some new shoots, start acting classes. I never have a workout partner so I’m hiring a videographer to film me in the gym. I’m about to be o nyoutube. Make sure to check me out and subscribe to my channel BryantFit. It’s not going to be like them other boring fitness models’ videos. It’s going to be some sick information and serious motivational like vidoes and I’m crunk! Think you’ll really like it.
Danica: Everyone got that right? He’s going to be on youtube. YOUTUBE

I still need to check out his channel. And no, that isn’t a euphemism for anything. I swearz!

Caveman Mark:

mark3

Danica: What is your favorite position?
Mark: Um, can I just show you??…LOL Here’s the thing, if the chemistry is right, they all should be your favorite!!
Danica: For a moment there, it felt as though I might have hit the floor…
Yowsa.
DA6

Danica: What kind of woman are you most drawn to sexually?
De Angelo: Personality is very important, what’s inside a person counts.
Danica: And there was a collective sigh as millions (okay hundreds) of women fell in love with De Angelo. And now imagine him saying that in his Italian accent.

I’m sighing. Again.

Cherokee:

DSC_0107_1

Danica: What’s your favorite kink? Yes, sexually.
Cherokee: I love an aggressive woman. I wouldn’t object to being spanked.
Danica: I know a lot of ladies who have belts, paddles and their hands ready to help him out. *cough*

Okay, fess up. Who wants to give this bad boy a spanking?

We’re starting up with new men next week. I hope. I have to hunt some more down. Le sigh. The life of an erotic romance writer is so difficult!

Men In Review

Yup, it’s about that time again.

First off, it’s Friday. Woot, woot. But not only that, it’s the Friday before RT. *runs around screaming* I need to pack, I need to get my hair done, my nails done, buy things for the trip, print out my itenerary, make sure I have deodorant…Eeeee!

What? I’m not allowed to be excited? Let me just say now that if I don’t return from Kansas City, it’s quite possible I’m in jail and am too afraid of my mom to call home. I wonder if they’d let me blog from behind bars. Nah, it won’t be that bad. I’ll be with Lea and Cassandra. They won’t let me get in too much trouble. Right? I’m sure one of them will keep me leashed.

Anyway, because I’m too distracted by upcoming plans to pack and getting ready for hair appointments and stuff, I’m going to do a review today and a review next week. What am I reviewing? The men who’ve visited this blog since the beginning of the year. I think. I might have enough Friday’s for that. *starts counting* I might have to turn this into a three-week review. Hm, we’ll see. But, I’m hoping once I’m at RT, I’ll be able to schmooze the cover models at the party for interviews. Trust me, I’ll bring my mojo to RT.

So without further ado…

Caveman David:

david1

Oh David…I can’t even begin to count how many conversations have revolved around you. And do you blame anyone? Not only is David beautiful physically, he’s a great guy.

This was perhaps my favorite part of the interview with him:

Danica: Have you ever read one of the books you’ve modeled for?
David: I’ve only read one romance novel when I was 13 and it taught me a lot about sex and woman, haha. But not yet a romance novel that I have modeled for. I’m sure it would make me blush.
Danica: It would only be fair since he made me blush too.

Awww. If he weren’t so impossibly handsome, I’d be tempted to pinch his cheeks for being so cute. Um, I’m not talking about the lower cheeks, y’all. Honest!

LaBare’s Kelii:

Kelii was recommended to me by Caveman and author, Justin and I’m pretty sure I owe him a drink or a hug of appreciation. Kelii was a great interview, very fun and okay, he made me blush a few times.

Tio Photos

Danica: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done as a model/dancer?
Kelii: I did an office party and it never happened to me in the 6 years I was dancing. It was an office birthday party. The lady I was dancing for had her own office. I was dancing for about five minutes with the door open and there wer e a couple of people inside. Next thing I know the door was closed and my pant were down. And my penis was in her mouth
Danica: I was blushing the entire time, y’all, but I had to ask what he did next.
Kelii: After about a good 15 minutes I was finished and we are continuing our adventures as we speak.
Danica: Y’all can’t take this plotbunny away from me. Don’t be surprised if there’s a book based off of this…just sayin’.

I’m pretty sure this one question was enough to send a lot of people into spasms of delight. Er…not those kinds!! Perverts. I mean that it was so blunt, it shocked them. Tickled them pink. You know what I mean! *shuts up*

LaBare’s Garren Luce:

Garren came to me through Justin and Lea Barrymire. Lea had interviewed him for her Tattoo Tuesdays (which you should check out if you don’t already) and he said he wouldn’t mind being shared by us. Okay, just as a little background, Lea and I frequently share men. But it really isn’t as naughty as it sounds. I wish it was…really.

Garren_3

Danica: Are you a breast or a butt man?
Garren: Definitely an ass man! Big booty is a must, LOL
Danica: Which probably makes doggy style more comfortable.
Garren: Lol there is nothing like watching a big booty bounce back and forth against my lower stomach.
Danica: <silence>

Yeah. I think I put my phone down after this question. We conducted it via text messages and I was like ‘Holy cow.’ I’m still thinking that. Really.

LaBare’s Antonio:

Antonio was another recommendation from Justin. I swear, he was pimping Unearthly Musings hard at the beginning of the year. I wonder if I could fund a trip for him to continue pimping me out at other dance clubs…I need more men like these. Between Garren, Antonio and Jose (Ellora’s Cave DJ), I’m learning all kinds of new terms for sex and stuff. They make me feel like a dirty old lady, but I’ll take it because they leave me speechless.

Antonio 1

Danica: Favorite position?
Antonio: My favorite position would have to be taking a girl to Poundsberg from behind.
Danica: This is where I did a choking snort kind of thing that caused my dog to stare at me. I’ve never heard it called Poundsberg before…

Poundsberg. POUNDSBERG y’all. ‘Nuff said.

And that’s all for this week! Be sure to stay tuned as I’ll try to report from RT…do my “You should’ve been there” thing and rub it in your faces. Just kidding! Bwahahaha. What about today’s review guys? What was your favorite part of their interviews? (Besides the pictures of course!!)

Happy Friday, peeps!
