Blurb:

Jesse Reagan has had more than his share of tragedy, and he may have been dealt another blow when, once again, cancer threatens the sister who raised him. Faced with the possibility of being left behind, Jesse vows to care for her young son, though he’s not convinced he can.

When Trip Cantrell returns to town, he’s blindsided the instant he’s reunited with his kid brother’s lifelong friend, Jesse. His inability to find happiness in the years he’s been gone, suddenly makes sense. Love’s been waiting at home all along.

Life begins to look promising, except for the fact that neither have come out of the closet publicly, and that’s not even their biggest problem. Someone has a secret so shocking they may never find a way past it.

Will they be accepted in their small Texas town, or will secrets, lies, and the threat of tragedy destroy everything?

Excerpt:

Trip could feel the tension radiating from the other man. Following his instincts, he gripped Jesse’s shoulder and squeezed. “You’re not alone you know. If you ever want to talk or need help with anything, let me know.”

Jesse turned his head, shocking the hell out of Trip by leaning in to where Trip held his shoulder, slightly brushing his cheek against Trip’s fingers.

Trip tightened his grip, savoring the feel of Jesse’s skin touching his. Was he imagining it?

Jesse slowly lifted his chin as his green eyes, darkening by the second, settled on Trip.

Trip’s heart raced, and his hardening c**k pressed against the zipper of his jeans. Was this really happening?

He inched closer, inhaling deep, losing himself in the aroma of Jesse’s quite memorable cologne. He swallowed hard, his lips tingling at the thought of Jesse’s mouth on his.

Jesse’s chest rose and fell, his breathing grew louder by the second, infiltrating Trip’s mind until his own breaths caught up, matching Jesse’s pants breath for heated breath. Jesse’s eyelids lowered to half-mast, his desire obvious as f**k.

Trip reacted on instinct alone, no thinking, just doing. He pulled Jesse closer until their lips were centimeters apart. Jesse’s exhales warmed Trip’s skin.

The night went silent the instant Jesse’s soft lips grazed Trip’s.

Seconds felt like hours until Trip engulfed Jesse’s mouth all together. With hungry sweeps, Trip dove deeper, sucking, and tangling his tongue with Jesse’s. He cupped the back of Jesse’s neck, and held on as their mouths warred for dominance over the other.

Trip gasped when Jesse’s wandering hand discovered his erection through his jeans. “F**k.”

Hot air poured over Trip’s neck as Jesse’s kisses blanketed his throat.

“I’ve wanted to do that all night.” Trip splayed his fingers through Jesse’s silky, black hair, hoping against hope Jesse would move his mouth lower.

Jesse fumbled with the buttons on Trip’s shirt, and plucked the first few open. He worked his way across Trip’s chest, circling Trip’s erect nipples with his warm, wet tongue. “S**t, Jesse.” Trip struggled to catch his breath. Everything was so intense, moved so fast, Trip could hardly tell if it was real.

He leaned Jesse back, seizing the few stolen moments he hoped were actually happening. His kisses grew heavier, and his need increased. He’d take it as far as Jesse would let him. He had no choice. Please let this be real.

More Guest Blogging

It’s been an crazy week and it isn’t over yet. You Bet Your Banshee released yesterday. I’m hosting a giveaway here on my blog that will run through the weekend. Today I’m going to be over at Stacey Espino’s blog with another chance to win You Bet Your Banshee. I’m talking about songs to take your clothes off to over there so be sure to stop and comment.

I’m also involved in the Keyboards and Kink blog hop which ends at midnight tonight. It’s a thirteen author anthology, which means lots of hot stories. If you’d like to win a copy, be sure to take part in the hop!

And tomorrow is another release day. Why do I feel like Forrest Gump when I say that? Like “I got to visit the president again“. But it’s true. Not the president part, but the release day part. What a crazy week.

To top it off, tonight is the premiere of Cajun Justice on A&E. Y’all. Seriously, I have to watch this show just because I know it’s going to provide me with endless hours of blogging material. I think nearly everyone in Terrebonne Parish is going to be watching it as well if only so they can complain about how they make us seem. It should be interesting.

Oh, did I mention I finished one of my WIPs? Yup, I wrote The End on Primal Design on Tuesday afternoon and sent it off to the lovely Avril Ashton for a beta. Hopefully it doesn’t suck. Now I just need to buckle down and finish Immortal Envy (Olympus, Inc. 2) and start working on my reaper book for the Three Kingdoms trilogy.

So much to do, so much to do!

Keyboards and Kink Blog Hop

Hi all! Today kicks off the start of the Keyboards and Kink blog hop to celebrate the upcoming release of the Keyboards and Kink Anthology which comes out Friday, June 8, 2012! I’m very excited about this release, not only because my short story, Immortal Love (Olympus, Inc. 1.5) is included, but also because I’m sharing this release date with so many amazing people.

What’s the purpose of the blog hop? Well, by visiting all the authors’ blogs listed below, you’ll be entered to win a digital copy of Keyboards and Kink. The blog hop will run from Monday, June 4th to the end of day, Thursday, June 7th. The winner will be picked and announced on Friday. The more times you comment, the more chances you have to win!

A night at home on the computer doesn’t have to be boring…

Feel like chatting? Or maybe doing something more daring? The stranger reaching out across cyberspace could be a creepy pervert, but what if he wasn’t? What if he’s a vampire, the sexy boy next door, or even your gorgeous boss? Thirteen tales explore all the delicious possibilities when online relationships lead to sexy encounters away from the keyboard.

Iris Argyris is tired of rainbows and purity. Unfortunately, as the Greek goddess of rainbows, she can’t do anything about that part of her life, but she can change the other. Meeting with the mortal she’s fallen in love with via an online role-playing game is one way to end her streak of purity and innocence. Although she’s known him for five years, meeting her beloved Thunderkiss doesn’t turn out the way she thought it would because he’s none other than a coworker at Olympus, Inc. with a dangerous reputation. A man who’d never looked at her twice.

Briareus Colonomos is the Greek god of storms and one of the original giants. Rude, crude, and not quite handsome, he’s spent thousands of years trying to find a woman who’d see beneath the surface. When he meets Pain-Bow Brite online, he thinks he’s finally found someone who can care for him. It doesn’t matter that she’s mortal. He wants her and he’ll have her. Except she isn’t mortal at all. She’s goody two-shoes goddess, Iris. A woman too pure and innocent for the likes of him. Or is she? He’ll find out and if she’s half the bad girl as her online character is, he’ll have to keep her forever.

Now go forth and visit my fellow K&K authors!

Immortal Game

I’m taking it easy today. Too many days of thinking of blog posts has fried my circuits. So I’m going to take the easy way out and talk about my upcoming short story release.

Immortal Game (Olympus, Inc.) is coming out in Evernight’s Keyboards and Kink Anthology on June 8. Here’s a little snippet of what the anthology is about:

A night at home on the computer doesn’t have to be boring…

Feel like chatting? Or maybe doing something more daring? The stranger reaching out across cyberspace could be a creepy pervert, but what if he wasn’t? What if he’s a vampire, the sexy boy next door, or even your gorgeous boss? Thirteen tales explore all the delicious possibilities when online relationships lead to sexy encounters away from the keyboard.

My offering in the anthology is based in the same world as Immortal Love, although none of the characters in that book appears in this story. This was something I decided to write the day before I submitted it. I know, I know, procrastination much? But once I figured out who my characters were, my fingers flew across the keyboard. That was the fastest 9k words I’ve ever written and I hope I did their story justice.

Here’s the blurb I wrote for the story:

Iris Argyris is tired of rainbows and purity. Unfortunately, as the Greek goddess of rainbows, she can’t do anything about that part of her life, but she can change the other. Meeting with the mortal she’s fallen in love with via an online role-playing game is one way to end her streak of purity and innocence. Happy Thursday, folks!

Yeah, it really is Monday, isn’t it?

Mama Said

Well hello people! I’m over at The Vampire Scribe today with an excerpt of Immortal Love. There’s also still time to win a copy of Immortal Love and a $10 Amazon gift card over at Lila Shaw’s blog, so be sure to visit!

Mother’s Day might be over, but we’re still listening to mama themed songs. We’ve gone way back, we’ve gone all metal, and now we’re going all dangerous.

Now, as I’ve said before, these songs have mama or mother in the title, but that doesn’t mean it’s all about the happy-maternal feelings mothers have for their children, or vice versa. It’s about the song title.

So for today’s song, I went with one of my favorite songs from the 90s. It’s one of those songs that even my mom knows. I don’t know how, but I’ve heard her sing a couple of lines when she thinks no one is watching (or listening).

It also doesn’t hurt that this musician is seriously hot.

Do you have any idea who I’m talking about?

No? Well, let me introduce you to LL Cool J. His song “Mama Said Knock You Out” came out in 1995. I remember hearing it and thinking “this is a cool a#$ song!”. I have it in my playlist and if I happen to miss the first part of the song, have to start it all over again because I have to sing/rap along. Just remember, “don’t call it a comeback”.

Announcement Time

It seems like so long ago that I had fantastic news to share. Sure, things have been good, but fantastic? Not quite.

First off, not everything is good. Last week my agent and I came to an agreement to stop working together. Now, now, it isn’t that horrible. We had a wonderful conversation similar to the one we had when we agreed to work together. We laughed a bit, bemoaned our inability to sell my book, and ended things on great terms. She’s a great lady and though I’m sad to no longer be working with her, it’s best for both of us.

Once we decided to part, it came time for me to sell my manuscript. The bigger publishers just didn’t want it. I don’t know why. Last year…no, it would’ve been 2010, I wrote a manuscript in 28 days. It didn’t turn into a zombie and threaten to destroy the publishing world. No, it was just a very quickly written story because the characters led the way. I was just along for the ride. That book, formerly titled Tie Him Up, Tie Him Down, is now called Immortal Love (Olympus, Inc.) and it’s been accepted for publication by Evernight Publishing.

I’m thrilled to join the Evernight family. There are a lot of talented authors in that group and their covers are to die for. Excitement abounds! Immortal Love (Olympus, Inc.) will come out sometime in April 2012 and I’m so happy Roxy and Mason finally found a home. Out of all the books I’ve written, this is the one that really got to me. It’s funny, it’s fast-paced, and there are some gut-wrenching moments that I’ll leave for my readers to discover.

Over the next couple of months, I’ll have edits and revisions and more edits to do while still writing on my other projects. Things will be hectic, but that’s what writers adore, right?

Here’s a little Immortal Love teaser for y’all:

Enforcer Roxana Love works for Olympus, Inc., the corporate face of the Greek pantheon, and knows better than to trust anyone in administration. Assigned to find and protect the newest member of Olympus, Inc., she figures it’ll be a grab and go job, until she discovers her assignment is the same man she slept with the night before. Keeping things profession will be near impossible when she can’t decide if she wants to kill or kiss him.

One night with Roxana isn’t enough for Mason Landry, despite how crazy she seems. However, he isn’t given much choice when he’s thrown through his window, attacked by mythical beings, and told he’s part-immortal. Roxana’s explanation is too fantastical to believe, but it if it keeps him by her side, he’ll go along for the ride. Meeting gods and dodging monsters from lore is nothing compared to the fight he’ll have winning Roxana’s heart.
