THE INTERVIEW:

What item, or items, is absolutely necessary to your writing mojo? A favorite pen? Devil horns on a headband?

Cara: My computer. LOL. I write on a laptop, but I have a separate keyboard and wireless mouse that I must have. And I need a notebook to jot things down. In winter, I often wear fingerless gloves because my hands get cold. But I don’t have a special talisman to create a magical mojo.

Cynthia: Nutella! Cynthia Sax runs on this chocolate hazelnut goodness. One of these days, I’ll organize a huge Nutella-sponsored writer-reader world tour. We’ll go on the road, eating Nutella straight out of the jar, talking about books and creating havoc wherever we stop. That’s the dream!

Other than Nutella, I have no rituals. I’ll change anything and everything to coax the muse out of hiding. If a story isn’t working on the screen, I’ll handwrite a few scenes. If the handwriting in blue isn’t working, I’ll write in hot pink. I’ll turn on or off music, listen to country, rock, opera, rap.

A.M. Griffin: None. I used to play with one of my son’s toys while I wrote. It had a calming effect. But as you know, if I had it then he had to have it. I gave up on that. I do like to sit on my bed and write. I’ve tried to go to other parts of the house to write, but I found that it’s either too noisy or distracting, especially if there are messes to clean.

Lolita: I need music and soda—and that’s about it. Well. Okay. Sometimes, especially when I’m writing late at night, I like to wear my purple house robe. I basically shuffle around the house looking like The Dude—but no white Russians here. :0  I’m strictly a teetotaling soda girl!  (And that’s a Big Lebowski reference, for those not in the know!)

Loving Dangerously, Book Three

Jess hates aliens. After the invasion that destroyed Earth, the extraterrestrial bastards sold her to a brothel as a sex slave. She may have escaped but the old memories and fears still linger in the dark corners of her mind. Supposedly Sonis is just the place for her—somewhere safe, where she can heal and start fresh. She’s almost hopeful…until she meets Rasha, her new boss.

Rasha, captain of the Sonis Royal Guard, is a warrior through and through. He’s huge, sinfully sexy and could have any woman on Sonis—but the woman he wants is Jess. He’s very much an alien and Jess knows she should hate him or at least be wary, but whenever he’s around, she loses control. She tells herself it’s only sex—amazing, mind-blowing sex like nothing else she’s ever experienced—but there’s something about Rasha that shakes her soul. The feel of his skin against hers, the look in his eyes as he touches her—they make her want to believe it’s possible to find love and begin again.

Do you have anything in common with your characters?
Unfortunately I don’t. I would love to be a martial artist like Eva or a princess like Sa’Mya. In my head I’m both though. 😉

What item, or items, is absolutely necessary to your writing mojo?
My son has two toys that I’ve taken too while writing. One is a spongy ball and the other is some kind of prickly thing. I find that while I’m trying to think things out, I reach for them and it helps to get the thoughts and idea’s flowing. He of course, has noticed that I like to keep them on my nightstand and has hidden them. But in his defense, if asked, he will retrieve them for me.

Do you have any rituals for writing or special locations that you prefer to inhabit when you’re writing?
No rituals, but I like to write in bed, propped up by pillows. I get distracted easily, so writing anywhere else would pull my attention away from my characters. I have tried writing at the mall once while my kids were shopping, but I didn’t get even a sentence out. I kept stopping to buy cookies and shakes. They were calling my name.

Right now, what items are on your desk that you’d be embarrassed to admit to?
I claim every unique item on my desk. Not embarrassed at all. But my favorite thing on my desk is a clay ashtray that my daughter made for me in school. Even though I don’t smoke, I have it proudly displayed and filled with pennies.

What’s the strangest (neatest, coolest, etc) thing you’ve ever done?
I went zip lining in Jamaica. It was so amazing but scary as hell! We were high in the mountains and had to zip our way down. My legs were literally shaking. I haven’t been that scared before or since! When I did peek and open my eyes, it was a beautiful view.

What was your favorite subject in high school or college?
I’m a total slacker, so my favorite subject in high school was dance. Our geeky troop performed at all of the half-time shows and school assemblies. We were really good, and I’m not just saying that. We likened ourselves to Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation dancers. My high school boyfriend and his friends used to call us Rhythmless Nation dancers, but I’m pretty sure it was pure jealousy since he ended up marrying me.

What are you currently working on, or what’s on the horizon?
The third book in this series was picked up by Ellora’s Cave, Dangerously Hers. I’ll spend the next three months or so working on the edits and getting Jessica Moore’s story refined and kick ass. I’m about 3/4ths done with JB’s story, the fourth book, title forthcoming. And of course, Eva’s friend Ally’s story (5th book) will be completed by the summer. I also started a wolf shifter story that I hope to have completed by the end of the summer as well.

What do you do when you’re not writing?
Read! My TBR list is growing out of control. I used to read 2-3 books per week and I’m pretty sure that’s what I read for the entire year in 2012. Even though I haven’t been able to read as much as I would like to, that hasn’t stopped me from buying books from my favorite authors.

Quick Questions:
Summer or Fall?
Summer! Fall *gags*

Pedicure or massage?
BOTH! Who says I have to choose one? Sadist…

Paper or plastic?
Plastic. I know, I know. Not good for the environment.

Cats or dogs?
Most definitely dogs. Cats *shivers*

They’re Taking It Off

Hey y’all, well it’s finally here, the interview you’ve all been waiting for. Yup, we have Taylor Cole and Justin Alan Whitfield in the house talking about their debut release, Take It Off! The Naked Truth About Male Strippers.

Now, if you haven’t had a chance to read the book yet, some of these questions might sound a little coarse and way out of left field. However, if you’ve read the guys’ book, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about here. Also, feel free to leave comments or questions. The guys will hopefully have time to stop by and respond.

Justin

Danica: Who had the idea of writing Take It Off? Was it something y’all thought of together, or always wanted to do?
Justin: Both of us had been wanting to write a book for years! I moved to Houston to work at the Houston Labare and Taylor stayed in Dallas working at the Dallas Labare. Every few months, we would see each other to do roadshows that I booked and we would share stories. This made us think, “our stories are hilarious! We gotta write a book!” Not until I saw the trailer months before magic mike came out to theaters, did I know we had to act soon! I wasn’t part of Ellora’s Cave yet but Taylor was, so I got him to pitch our book to Susan Edwards and we got our first contract! Susan didn’t seem interested at first but called Taylor a few days later and had a contract for us. She thought we would need a ghost writer but was happily suprised that we could write and wanted to keep our voice in the book.
Taylor: We wrote it together. We talked about doing it for years.

Danica: What was the best part of writing this book? The fame, the fortune…the chance to revisit your favorite conquests?
Justin: The chance to mark off “write a book” on our bucket list! Also, making friends with all of the Elloras cave authors.
Taylor: Remembering all the fun times and adventures I had.

Danica: Okay, what’s the deal with tea bagging the new guy? Cause, correct me if I’m wrong, but women don’t go around vag bagging people. Unless that’s something new and the Cabal are planning to add this to the induction ceremony…
Taylor: I would never do that to anyone. That’s a story one of the old dancers always told us about.
Justin: We wish women would! Sounds like a good ritual!!!! Btw: Taylor and I have never tea bagged anyone!
Or got tea bagged!

Taylor

Danica: How has the response been from readers so far? Reviews can be harsh and a bit of a pain in the ass. Do you even bother reading them?
Justin: Yes, so far we have gotten really good reviews and feedback. I love reading a review that shows the reader didn’t want to read or didn’t know what to expect and ended up loving the book!
Taylor: I love reading the reviews. So far they have all been positive.

Danica: The scene with the toilet paper in the dancer’s thong nearly killed me. Does that kind of thing stay with a dancer the next time they perform? How do you come back from something like that?
Taylor: That didn’t happen to me, but I’m sure if the guy laughed it off it wouldn’t be that big a deal.
Justin: It happened and the women never even  said anything to me. I still made money! I was embarrassed though!

Danica: Of the two of you, who’s the better storyteller?
Taylor: I’m better at telling it in person, but he’s better at writing it down.
Justin: Taylor has the funniest story telling ability, he just has to be in the right mood to tell them, though. I write more of the stuff but Taylor adds much of the humor. We are like yin and yang.

Justin on the left, Taylor on the right

These questions come from one of your fans 😉

Danica: How much is too much to share. How much are you willing to discuss with readers who are genuinely interested? Tell all baby!
Justin: My wife had to take a deep breath on some parts of the first book but that’s why I love her! She allows me to be me!
Taylor: I’m pretty much an open book. I didn’t really hold anything back.

Danica: What type of woman is the one type you’d never go for?
Taylor: Snobby women. They seem negative to me and I like to be around positive people.
Justin: Sloppy. I love a woman who knows how to carry herself.

Danica: How did you get into the Caveman Club? (And thank God y’all did.. Her words, not mine although I agree.)
Justin: Patty came to my bar in Houston 7 years ago to audition cavemen. I was the link they needed to sign all the Labare guys. Reason why most of us come from Texas. I declined to model then due to my 80 hours a week to get my bar up and running. However, I always regretted not being a caveman! I wanted to be on a book cover badly. Another bucket list! Things workout well for me, and now I have my goal and will be a caveman until they say no more! Lol!
Taylor: One of the choreographers asked me and Angelo fi we would be interested in it and we agreed and were so glad we did.

Danica: Does it ever get old, getting ogled? How do you get over having a “meh” day and turn it on for the stage?
Taylor: It never gets old. I love the attention!
Justin: It does get old but you miss it too! That’s why I retired from Labare in ’05 but continue to this day doing roadshows at clubs and casinos. It’s fun being sexy! My normal life, I am anything but! Mean boss is what I get to be! Lol!

Now it’s your turn, my friends. These guys are amazingly blunt and ready to tell you like it is. Of course, if you haven’t picked up Take It Off! The Truth About Male Strippers, you should do that. Like now 🙂

Fantasy Man Friday with Em Petrova

I have a special guest for us today. Please give a warm welcome to Em Petrova! Oh, and definitely stick around for an excerpt of her book, Wild Wild Hearts!

Hi, everyone! Thought I’d drop by the amazing Danica Avet’s blog and share my Fun Friday man pic. Yum, right?

Read on for a teaser of my latest historical western WILD WILD HEARTS. Enjoy!

Blurb: Lady Sofia is one of the most sought-after women on the frontier. But her “boss” calls the shots from what she may eat to who she spends the night with. Recently he’s asked too much when he demands she and her long-time lover Isaac use their charms to seduce a man she wants to tangle limbs with all too much.

With Sofia, Isaac Strong is part of a two-for-one deal known as the “Jade Pair” for the color of their eyes. When the rugged Nolan Hollis walks into their lives, Isaac’s yearnings kick like a wild stallion. But will the honorable man want anything to do with them, especially once he discovers the Jade Pair’s mission is to steal a prized object from the Hollis family?

Nolan must have the stunning saloon girl, even if it means she comes packaged with Isaac. Soon Nolan is equally as drawn to the quiet and handsome man. While he struggles not to lose his heart to his lovers from the wrong side of humanity, he works to hide his rendezvous from his family. But soon Nolan realizes his lovers intend to do more than get him into bed and steal his love.

You might want to hold onto your hats for this excerpt, folks!

Excerpt:

“Your action, sir.” Sofia hung over the railroad executive’s shoulder, making sure her bodice dipped low. The movement left nothing to the man’s imagination as she pointed to his poker hand.

His gray mustache twitched. He followed the seam of her cleavage, able to see quite a bit considering the top of her dress dipped dangerously close to her nipples. One wrong move and she’d be exposed to everyone in the saloon.

Including the Hollis boy across the room.

Sofia flicked her gaze up, stopping just short of meeting his. He was looking at her—that was enough for now. She wasn’t certain she should be carousing with a man like him anyway.

He’d been nursing the same whiskey all night but continued to watch her, his dark hat tugged lower with every hour that passed.

Just like her bodice.

She didn’t know why she was purposely tempting him. For a price, she’d go upstairs with any man, together with her lover, Isaac.

They were a team known as the Jade Pair for the color of their eyes. Hers were a deeper, more emerald green, while Isaac’s were a bright jade. But their boss believed the term to be exotic and enticing, drumming up more business.

With Hollis’s warm gaze on her, she almost wished she wasn’t in this profession of entertaining men. Hollis had “morality” written all over him. Yes, he was definitely the come-courting kind. Well, she wasn’t in that market—her train had pulled out long ago.

The railroad executive, his name still unknown to her, spread some cards out on the table, and a gasp ran from one player to the next when they spotted his four-of-a-kind.

“I’m out.” One man tossed his cards into the center of the table with a growl of disgust. Another withdrew a wad of cash from his vest pocket and peeled off some bills, which he handed to the railroad man to cover his losses.

Isaac made a sharp movement, and Sofia looked up. Their gazes met. No words were needed. He glanced to the side and caught the boss, Hiram Marshall, watching. Hiram was waiting for Sofia to make her move.

Damn.

Her unladylike thought was tamer than it might have been. How she hated being under Hiram’s thumb and pinned down by his ever-watchful gaze. That he was waiting for her to gain the tycoon’s cooperation so that wad of cash could cross into Hiram’s hands was evident.

If the railroad man took her and Isaac to bed, they’d line Hiram’s pocket and provide enough cash for them to eat and bathe for a week.

Carefully, she lifted her gaze to the far wall again. A slice of want ripped through her as she met Hollis’s intense stare. She didn’t even know which Hollis he was—there were so many.

The man was pure, walking lust. Dark denims that were stiff on every other cowboy actually molded to his chiseled thighs, and his quality leather boots gleamed in the lantern lights. Nothing compared to his face. If angels truly fell, she could say she saw one in the flesh.

His dark gaze burned from beneath the brim of his hat and caused a throb deep in her core.

A jolt of surprise captured her. When had she last felt that desire? Though she slept with many men every week, she’d only ever experienced this wanting once before—with Isaac.

Her sex ached, pooling with moisture. She shifted, and her skirts rustled. Beneath her lacy petticoats, she was slick and bare—every bit of hair bladed from her pussy.

Was Hollis a hungering man? From the way his hard lips pulled tight over his teeth in a snarl when the railroad man skimmed her jaw with his forefinger, she thought so. Hollis set his glass down with a clink that sounded all the way across the noisy saloon.

“Careful, Sofia,” Isaac murmured in her ear.

The threads of the web tightened. Suddenly, she was caught between Hiram, the railroad man, Isaac, and Hollis. Yessir, she was throwing Hollis into the mix. If he was a hungering man, she was a betting woman.

“Would you like to follow my man and me upstairs?” she asked the tycoon but kept her gaze fixed on Hollis.

The cowboy brought his boot off its resting place across his knee, and the heel hit the floor.

“Why yes, ma’am, that sounds right nice.” The railroad man clutched the bills he’d just won and turned to her with a fevered light in his eyes. When he reached for her, Hiram plucked the money from his hand. At the same moment, Hollis shoved his chair back with such swiftness, it tipped over, sounding like a shot.

At the sound of the crash, the piano music came to an abrupt stop. Isaac clamped his hand on Sofia’s shoulder, almost bruising her. But she knew if events escalated into a fight and guns were drawn, he would have her out of here and to safety within moments.

“I’ll raise you.” Hollis’s voice was deep and rough, like he chewed nails and swallowed them for breakfast. It also sent a dark heat threading low through Sofia’s belly. The fire took up residence between her thighs, and she squeezed them together to ease it.

Hiram stepped up to Hollis. He was a full head shorter than the cowboy and lacking in muscle. But he was used to dealing with hard men and knew how to get what he wanted. At that moment, he wanted more money.

Isaac’s grip on her shoulder tightened painfully. She swung her gaze to him and spotted the glint in his eyes. Yes, it said. He wanted this—wanted Hollis.

Lust pounded through her core. In the two years she and Isaac had been together and loved each other, she’d never seen the flames of need in him for another man. Sure, he gave his body to them willingly enough, but Hollis was different.

For them both. Before she had a chance to wonder why, Hollis crowded close.

“This is a rather large chunk of money, sir. I’m not certain you would have—” Hiram bit off his words as Hollis laid a thick stack of cash on the table.

A shiver that was almost pride coursed down Sofia’s spine. Isaac blew out a breath.

Rotating, Hiram faced the railroad man. “Will you counteroffer?”

The man stared for a long moment at Hollis. The cowboy braced his legs wide and hooked a thumb in his front pocket, appearing nonchalant and menacing at once. The pose said he had money to up the stakes, but he wasn’t going to need it.

Sofia sank her teeth into her lower lip. Hollis’s gaze latched on to her mouth and held.

Finally, the tycoon shook his head. “Nope. Other women in these parts to be had. I won’t separate myself from more money.” He held out his hand, and Hiram placed his winnings in his palm.

“Sofia, Isaac, you’ve got yourself a gentleman for the evening. Take good care of him.” Hiram greedily stuffed the wad of money into his vest pocket and hightailed it out of the saloon. His work was done, and now he’d be off to his bed like the lazy sloth he truly was. A man who worked not at all but lived off other people’s “talents.”

“I thank you, sir, for such a gracious offer,” Sofia whispered, the words not laced with her usual syrupy sweetness. Isaac heard her breathlessness and inched closer, putting one arm around her waist.

Hollis nodded, then glanced upward. “Shall we go upstairs?”

White heat scorched her sex. Her nipples pebbled. “By all means.”

As she followed Hollis’s thickly muscled body up the short flight of wooden stairs, Sofia’s heart galloped out of control. Certainly a man like him would know his way around a woman’s body as well as he knew how to rope a stallion.

Thank you to Danica for hosting me!

Guest Blogger Lila Shaw

Today I have Lila Shaw on the blog with her book, All’s Fair in Love and War.

But first, a little about Lila!

Lila Shaw is the pen name for a writer of works of erotica and erotic romance.  She also writes adult fiction (romance, suspense and short stories in all genres) and non-fiction under the pen name of Claire Gillian.
Lila’s erotic writings typically involve strong-willed women with feminist tendencies, and are often playful, sarcastic and even silly.  She believes if you can’t occasionally laugh at the physical aspects of love, you’re taking life far too seriously.

Her published works include All’s Fair in Love and War, short stories in the Midnight Seduction and Stockings and Suspenders anthologies, all from Evernight Publishing. As Claire Gillian, her debut novel, The P.U.R.E. was released April 16th.

Lila lives in the Pacific NW with her (inspirational) husband and two sons.  She works full time as a finance/operations professional for a large insurance company.

Blurb:

Only two obstacles block Shelby Donaldson’s path to success at her new job–her sizzling hot supervisor and his freezing cold attitude. Maybe her flirting got a little out of hand at first, but that’s no reason for Mr. Sighs-A-Lot to screw her over in her performance review.

Colin Montoya is not going to fall for Shelby’s sex-in-a-suit brand of temptation. He’s got her number and is not going to dial it, nor is he going to allow Shelby’s philandering brother to marry his baby sister.

After an explosive one-night stand goes awry, battle lines are drawn.  But can the warring co-workers negotiate a cease-fire long enough to realize their romantic fortunes might just lie in each other?
Excerpt:

Colin watched Shelby leave, baffled as usual by her flighty behavior. She was the most frustrating woman he had ever met, in more ways than one. Having to work with her for three weeks had stretched his tolerance to the limit. He was grateful to finally be rid of her, the signed performance review in his hot little hands. If only his body felt the same way about her as his head.

He rose from his chair and followed her out. He checked his watch. Nearly five-thirty. Since it was also a Friday, happy hour at the usual location awaited. Good thing, too, because he always felt like a stiff drink after an exchange with Shelby Donaldson.

Shelby sashayed around the corner to her cubicle. Colin couldn’t help but track her hips as they swayed. Exasperated with his unbidden reaction, he made a hard right into his own cubicle and collapsed into his chair. After lingering over a few last minute client details, he organized and stowed his work, then headed out.

At Roscoe’s Sports Bar and Grill in the heart of downtown Portland, Oregon, Colin zeroed in on the tiny table a couple of his buddies had staked out near the foosball tables. Pulling up a bar stool, he ordered a beer then dove into the order of nachos that claimed nearly the entire surface of the table. He and his friends caught up with each other, and he shared the reason for his tardiness.

“Isn’t that her over there?” His friend and colleague Allan pointed to a table of giggly women near the bar.

Colin turned and saw several women from his firm, including Shelby.

“Yeah.” He spun back around, hoping she hadn’t spotted him.

“Which one is she?” his other friend, Christian, asked.

“She’s the one in the red sweater with long dark hair parted on the side, big hoop earrings with these stupid cats hanging from the bottom, sinister blood red talons for fingernails. You can’t miss her if you look for the pall of obstinacy that surrounds her, sort of like Pigpen from Peanuts with his cloud of dirt.”

“The one with the nice rack?”

“I hadn’t noticed.” Colin feigned disinterest, struggling to keep all inflection from his voice.

“I guess you were too preoccupied with her pus – kitties.” Allen slapped him on the back, and both friends guffawed.

If Colin were being honest, he’d have to admit that not much about Shelby escaped his attention – hazel eyes that danced with amusement at the oddest things, a laugh that contrasted sharply with her delicate features in its bawdiness. And yes, she had a nice rack, as well as nice legs and a tight little body she obviously pampered. Every square inch of her was designed to distract and lure a man to his doom. Even her infectious laughter, which cut through the din of the bar, got to him. It always had, but that lethal package was marred by a personality made of piss and vinegar when she didn’t get her way. Given the inappropriateness of dating a co-worker, especially a subordinate, he was almost grateful for the fatal flaw.
Colin escaped to the bathrooms to shut out the mirthful sounds. On his return, he met Shelby in the narrow hallway. They did the obstacle dance with each other before he stopped and stood to one side. As she nodded then passed, he got a whiff of her perfume, the same scent she wore every day. Over his shoulder, he watched her walk away before he continued back to his table, shaking his head. He absolutely hated how she turned him upside down.

The Post That Almost Wasn’t

WordPress is giving me fits lately. *counts to ten* If I normally stop by your blog, I apologize for my absence. I can’t see any posts for blogs I subscribe to. This means I have to rely on my memory and that sucks. Seriously. To top it off, the silly thing doesn’t want to save this post. It’s almost like the blog is working against me. Maybe it doesn’t want me to embarrass myself if I say something idiotic. *snort* We all know it’s way too late for that!

In other news, today kicks off the start of my seven-day virtual book tour! Yay! It’s finally here! I’m nervous. What if no one visits me? I know Izzy said I could just take a sword to people and they’ll pay attention to whatever I have to say, but that seems so violent. I’d rather nag them into visiting me. Maybe y’all can help!

Tell everyone you know about the blog tour. Tweet it. Post it on Facebook. And…those other social media sites I never got around to joining. It’ll be fun! Today I’m over at Laurie’s Thoughts & Reviews for an interview and giveaway. See? Free stuff!

http://lauriethoughts-reviews.blogspot.com/ That’s where I’ll be. I’ll beat this blog one way or another!

And y’all, can you believe it’s already the end of August? Where did the summer go? I thought I had more time to mentally prepare for the book signing this weekend, but noooo, Father Time is fighting me as well. *sniff*

So while I huddle in a ball of insecurity and mumble about conspiracy theories, take a moment to enjoy this fun song because yeah, the Saints put a hurtin’ on the Raiders last night:

Author Interview: Olivia Cunning

Hey y’all! I’m so excited to have a very special guest with us for What’s Playing Wednesday. Usually, I let my MP3 player choose a song to entertain you, but after reading this author’s books, I knew she had to stop by for a visit. I may have stalked her whined at her a bit, but she’s been a great sport and I can’t wait for y’all to meet her.

So please give a warm welcome to Olivia Cunning!

I know one of the most frequently asked questions to an author with a series is “What gave you the idea for the series”? I’m not going to ask that. No, I want to know who was your inspiration for your band members?

I got the original idea for Backstage Pass at an Avenged Sevenfold concert (no, not because I had a backstage pass… bummer…), so it’s only fitting that they were the original inspiration for Sinners. Once I got writing, I deviated from the real life band, especially personality-wise, as the fictional characters became more “real” to me than real-life rock stars, but yes, they were the original inspiration. Especially, Synyster Gates, M. Shadows and Zacky Vengeance. Yum-to-the-um.

Nom, nom...tattoos, piercings, dark clothes, cool hair, AND they rock! *drool*

You have so much detailed information in these books from song composition to performance so I have to ask, are you musically inclined? I’ve tried playing bass guitar and while I can do it…it’s boring trying to play by yourself (and y’all can stop snickering!).

I wanted to be a rock star when I was a teenager. I picked up the guitar, learned to play Stairway to Heaven and realized my fingers are too short and stubby to ever be any good at it. I was the top ranked flutist in my junior high band (we had 40 flutes, talk about a band heavy on upper registers) and also played piccolo. Maybe I should have followed in Jethro Tull’s footsteps. The detail in the books comes from being a life-long fan of rock music. I’ve followed it since I was a child. If you write what you’re passionate about, I’ve hit the mother lode.

Who’s your favorite band? Who have you seen in concert more than twice?

Well, that depends. Do you want to know my current favorite band, or my favorite band of all time or my favorite band based on my record collection? Currently, I’m loving Bullet for My Valentine. Can’t get enough of Avenged Sevenfold and have more of their songs on my iPod than any other band. I’d say my favorite band of all time is Guns ‘n’ Roses. Though I had massive love for dozens of bands in the 80s, they’re the ones who have stuck with me the most over time. I’ve seen sever bands in concert more than twice. Avenged Sevenfold takes the prize with 6 times. Papa Roach 4 times. Disturbed 3 times. The other thirty or so bands I’ve only seen once or twice.

The Sinners are hot…very hot. Who’s your favorite band member? I have to pick Jace because I’ve always had this thing for bass players…gr-owl. But Brian, Trey, Sed, and Eric are very, very close seconds. Okay, that isn’t entirely true…they’re all so hot, I couldn’t pick if I had a choice. Maybe one for Monday, one for Tuesday, etc.

I honestly love them all. I don’t have a favorite.

Are you planning a book for each band member? What about side characters like the luscious Dare and Max?

I’m currently working on the rest of the Sinners books and I would love to do a spin-off of Exodus End (with Dare, Max, Logan and Steve) when I finish the Sinners on Tour series. You can never have too many hot rock stars.

You’re given the opportunity to put together a dream band filled with your favorite musicians, living or dead. Who do you choose and why?

I’m dedicating each novel in the Sinners on Tour series to a different rock musician that has died before his time. I’m not sure what they would sound like all together, but I’ll go with them. Guitarists: Dimebag Darrell Abbot (Pantera) and Randy Rhodes (Ozzy Osbourne); Vocalist: Kurt Cobain (Nirvana); Bassist: Cliff Burton (Metallica); and Drummer: James “The Rev” Sullivan (Avenged Sevenfold)

And just because I’m nosy…what was your road to publication like?

I’ve been writing fiction for about 20 years. I started with contemporary category romance and have also written fantasy, science fiction, paranormal romance, scientific thrillers, and I’m sure there are other things I’m forgetting. I queried all of them and have the requisite rejection letters to prove it. Backstage Pass was my first erotic romance novel. The second publisher I queried bought it and the entire series. I was stunned.

Now to appease my What’s Playing Wednesday schedule, what song has a similar flavor to the Sinners’ music?

Avenged Sevenfold – Unholy Confessions

Just have to say…kick ass! This is one band I have to see in concert!

Olivia, thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I hope to have you by again when your next book comes out…I know, I’m such a fangirl 😉

I’d love to visit again. Thanks for having me!

Author Bio:

Combining her love for romantic fiction and rock ‘n roll, Olivia Cunning writes erotic romance centered around rock musicians.

Raised on hard rock music from the cradle, she attended her first Styx concert at age six and fell instantly in love with live music. She’s been known to travel over a thousand miles just to see a favorite band in concert. As a teen, she discovered her second love, romantic fiction — first, voraciously reading steamy romance novels and then penning her own.

Y’all simply have to check out this series!
