Fantasy Man Friday

This week was much more pleasant than last week, but I’m still glad it’s Friday.

After having a near nervous breakdown with book 3 of my Cajun Heat series and speaking with the awesome Jillian Chantal, I think I’ve finally figured out who my characters are. Jillian, I’m sorry, but I ended up changing my mind about my heroine. Again, but talking with you did stir up my brain and give life to my newest idea. Yay!

By the way, any aspiring writers out there? You need to have a writing buddy to bounce ideas off of. It doesn’t have to be your critique partner or your beta reader. It can just be someone who understands how impossible it feels when you get stuck. That’s priceless.

Now that the serious part of today’s program is over, let’s move on to the fun stuff. I’m still in the middle of the blog tour for Primal Song, so if you’d like to win prizes and learn more about Daisy and Ram, head on over to my contests page for a list of places I’ll be throughout September. God…it’s already September. Where did the year go? Meh.

And in only a couple of weeks, book two of the Cajun Heat series, Primal Design is coming out. Yay! Is it weird that my mom is waiting to read that book before she moves on to a new series? She really liked Primal Song which kind of surprised me until she said she skipped over all the sex scenes. That actually made me feel a little better. Of course, she did tell me she blushed throughout her reading of Immortal Love. Heh. That cracks me up.

But I know for a fact that although she gets embarrassed reading about the sexy men I have in my books, she adores Fantasy Man Friday. So for her and all of you secret perverts out there, here’s today’s man:

I could say soo many things having to do with balls, but I won’t. I swear. Although I kind of already did, didn’t I? Heh. I could say this is in honor of football season starting, but to be honest, I didn’t even notice the football until the second or third or fourth look…

Happy Friday! Have a fun and safe weekend 🙂

I’ve Been Waiting

It’s time for a new theme for What’s Playing Wednesdays. Before that though, I’m over at Full Moon Bites with an interview and giveaway. The Primal Song blog tour is still going strong and there are plenty of chances to win prizes, so share with your friends or enter for yourself!

Primal Design comes out this month and I didn’t have much of a choice when it came to writing this book. I knew before I even finished Primal Song that Kitty and Monk would have to be next. And they were. If you haven’t read the first book in the series, you’ll want to so you can get the full impact of Primal Design. It isn’t necessary, but as a reader, I have to read all the books in a series in order to really appreciate the newest one. Of course, I’m a bit of a freak, so you don’t have to do that.

Anyway, Kitty Chambers and Monk Badeaux have a bit of a history. Here’s the blurb for Primal Design.

Fashion designer and bear shifter Kitty Chambers thought fifteen years was enough time to get over her first love Monk Badeaux, but when she sees the sexy cougar again, her mating instincts return and it’s all she can do to keep her paws off him. Despite her wariness, Monk unearths a part of her sexuality she’d never known existed, using it ruthlessly to win her back. Monk is hazardous to her well-being and her heart, but Kitty isn’t sure she stands a chance against all this heat.

If you love something, set it free. Monk Badeaux did that and suffered the consequences. When Kitty comes home, he falls head over heels in love with the independent, no-panty-wearing woman his childhood sweetheart has become. And she hates him. Luck is on his side when he discovers his mate has a streak of exhibitionism he’s more than happy to exploit if it’ll bring them closer. Alleys, school gyms, cars…nothing is sacred when a cougar is out to win his mate.

So yeah, there’s a lot of history and a lot both Kitty and Monk have to work through before they can find their happy ever after. Which is what brings me to today’s song.

I’m usually not a big fan of rock bands with female singers. Don’t ask me why because I have no idea. Maybe it’s the notes they hit. I’m just not overly impressed with soprano-like pitches in heavy metal. However, this song is really something. It’s heartfelt and raw and I do like it. Especially when I think about Monk. Oh, he’s screwed up bad. Very bad, but he’s been waiting for Kitty to come home so he could make things right.

Okay, he has a long way to go, but he’s determined to win his Kitty-cat back. Valora’s I Waited for You is a perfect song to describe Monk’s patience when it comes to winning the woman of his dreams.

I hope you enjoy!

I’m Back

Obviously I’m back. It’s been a very long week. Hurricane Isaac didn’t damage our homes, but we were out of power for over 72 hours and didn’t have use of our phone, cable or internet until late Sunday afternoon. Let’s just say I read a lot and took more naps than usual over the last seven days.

I did manage to get out of the house for a little while on Sunday. I went to the movies with my godson. We saw The Possession. It wasn’t as scary as we’d hoped it would be. When you can predict what’s going to happen next, that’s not a good thing. However, we did see trailers of upcoming movies we want to see.

I also got the cover for Primal Design while I was without power. It’s in the sidebar. Isn’t it pretty? And sexy? And rar worthy? It comes out September 19th, so be ready for some songs that remind me of Kitty and Monk’s story for What’s Playing Wednesdays.

Other than that, it’s just been a very quiet (with the exception of the hurricane force winds) week. I’m hoping to get back in the groove of things. I didn’t write as much as I wanted to, but I did manage to figure out the next story in the Cajun Heat series. It took me a little while and I’m hopeful that I’ll stick with this story line. You never can tell with me.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
