The Sky is Orange

I love sunsets *sigh* So many colors!

But that’s not what we’re here for today. It’s What’s Playing Wednesday and I’m keeping on track with the orange theme someone challenged me with last month. I suppose there can’t be a lot of songs with orange in the title because it’s one of those words with no rhyme to it. It kind of makes you wonder where in the world the word came from in the first place.

Orange. It’s so…well, I don’t know what it is. However, I have found songs to fill the orange theme of October. Today’s offering is from none other than Nat King Cole. Yes, you heard me, Nat King Cole. I doubt I’ve ever mentioned my love of big band music from the 30s to the 50s. I listened to a lot of it with my grandfather when I was little. I remember we’d take afternoon naps and he’d have his radio playing his favorite station which played that kind of music. It was soothing and sometimes I get the strange urge to pull out my big band compilation cds.

In honor of the music my grandfather shared with me, today’s song is “Orange Colored Sky” by Nat King Cole.

    Flash! Bam! Alakazam!

It is hard not to get up and dance, like sweeping ballroom style, rockin’ the victory rolls in the hair, the t-strap heels and a dress that swings with the spin. Aaah, awesome choice today!

  2. NICEE!!! I love big band music- that’s why my heroine in Redemption for the Devil is a lounge singer- I had to work that in somewhere.
