What’s Playing Wednesday

It’s back to the grindstone for me. Yup, I’m back from my conference and I have a ton of work to do. Most of it is regular day-to-day work, but the rest is all things I learned at the conference that I have to start implementing at our sites. Yay.

I suppose it shouldn’t be any surprise that my MP3 player is feeling the same sniffly urge to run back home and dive under the covers. You got it! It picked a melancholy song for today’s What’s Playing Wednesday.

The band is called Dashboard Confessional. I’ll admit I don’t know much about this band other than the fact that they have one song I really like. I guess they were part of the sudden flux of emo bands that popped up a few years ago. I listened to one live recording of this song and didn’t even hear the band over the girls singing. Needless to say, I didn’t choose that version.

The song I’m playing is called Screaming Infidelities and it’s not the sweetest song I’ve ever heard, but for some reason I like it. Maybe because it sounds soothing at times, or probably because the lyrics are interesting. Either way, it’s one song I sing along to when I hear it (and no, I wasn’t in that live recording).

Without further ado, I give you Dashboard Confessionals!

For us romance writers, this would be a good song for a dark moment. Say if the heroine catches the hero with another woman, or suspects he’s with another woman, or something along those lines. You might consider adding it to your playlist for those moments.

“As for now I’m gonna hear the saddest songs and sit alone and wonder how you’re making out…”

    “Your hair is everywhere”

~snicker~ It’s like an duet between owner and dog

  3. Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE HIM!!! I have all of his cds. His name is Chris Carraba. He’s from Boca Raton. He has people play behind him but he is Dashboard Confessional himself. He has some awesome songs that I have used for inspiration for some of my scenes. You need to check out more of his music. You will love him!!!

  4. Nice. I was wondering if i’d ever hear anyone sing….thought it was an instrumental at first. LOL. It’s an okay song, but I’m hitting the hard rock pretty hard right now, so that’s the groove I’m in now. LOL
